Supported by the Heritage Lottery Fund

The Heritage Lottery Fund helps people and communities to look after and celebrate their heritage. What has this to do with the Thames Gateway? Heritage and regeneration are both, essentially, about transforming lives – of people and places – that have suffered from environmental, social or economic decline. And if the Government’s proposals for growth in South Essex are to achieve more than soulless urban sprawl, they must have roots. Roots in what makes the place unique. Roots that connect people to their history and assert their identity. The Heritage Lottery Fund is committed to investing in the Thames Gateway to ensure that the area’s fascinating natural, built, archaeological and social heritage is preserved for future generations to share and enjoy.

The area contains a mix of features seldom seen elsewhere - Riverside, Heritage, Commerce, proximity to a World City, etc. A great many people will begin to understand this as the programme unfolds, and so the Thames Gateway South Essex Partnership is pleased to support this Event.
